North York Moors National Park

Where are the North York Moors?
The North York Moors are located in North Yorkshire, England, covering an area of 554 square miles.

Popular activities include hiking, cycling, wildlife watching, and exploring historic sites like Rievaulx Abbey and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. In addition to hiking and cycling, visitors can enjoy horse riding, fishing, and visiting charming villages like Goathland and Helmsley.
Key sights include the heather moorland, coastal cliffs, and landmarks such as Roseberry Topping and the Cleveland Way National Trail. Must-see attractions include the coastal town of Whitby, the historic Rievaulx Abbey, and the scenic Esk Valley.
The heather typically blooms in late summer, from August to early September, creating a stunning purple landscape.
There are 50 trig points in the North York Moors National Park. These trig points are scattered across the park, providing excellent locations for navigation training and enjoying panoramic views.
