The falls are accessed by a short, fairly flat walk that that is ideal for robust pushchairs and wheelchairs. The adjacent Sychryd Accessible Trail offers a 1.5 km, wheelchair‑friendly route along the River Sychryd, with a well‑maintained, flat terrain, and no steep gradients. Starting from the Dinas Rock car park, which includes designated disabled spaces, the walk provides scenic river views, rest spots, and information boards.

Set amid one of the Brecon Beacons’ most atmospheric river gorges, Henrhyd Falls is widely celebrated as the tallest waterfall in South Wales, plunging an impressive 27 metres (90 feet) into the shaded Graig Llech gorge.
This striking cascade is surrounded by ancient woodland, creating a perfect scene that was famously used as the entrance to Batman’s Batcave in The Dark Knight Rises.
Reaching Henrhyd Falls makes for a rewarding adventure, with a scenic woodland trail leading you down into the Nant Llech valley. Although short, the walk is beautiful. You follow the river through mossy trees as you descend towards the gorge and the waterfall itself. The walk can be a little challenging at point with steep section and uneven paths, so be careful with footing.

Set deep within one of the most atmospheric gorges in Waterfall Country, Sgwd Einion Gam, also known as the Fall of the Crooked Anvil, is a fairy tale waterfall.
Surrounded by mossy cliffs, reflective pools, and dense green woodland, it has a dreamlike quality that makes it one of the most enchanting spots in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). Immersing yourself in the falls and taking in the peace and quiet afforded by the surrounding woodland is a magical, storybook experience.
The waterfall can be reached via the rugged and scenic Elidir Trail (parts of which are currently closed for repairs), which leads through deep gorges, along forest paths, and beside rivers that grow wilder the closer you draw to the falls. The way to the waterfall takes you off the beaten track and can be trickier to find and requires careful navigation. However, its relative remoteness means that if you time your visit right, you’ll be able to enjoy the waterfall in near-silence, aside from the crashing water and woodland birdsong.
Sgwd Einion Gam route
Reaching Sgwd Einion Gam involves following a track that is less visible after leaving the footpath. It also requires crossing the river a couple of times, with no designated place to cross so it is down to self judgement. Be aware that crossing the river can be slippery and be cautious of any hazards, especially after heavy rainfall.
