Starting at the public car park just below the White House pub, you’re very quickly off road onto a lovely, flat gravel path high up on the moors without having to cycle up hill – perfect for mountain biking beginners or if you fancy an easy ride.

You’re rewarded instantly to viewing the two most stunning reservoirs in the area- Blackstone edge reservoir and White Holme Reservoir, as well as the famous “rain stones”. Once you reach the latter, there’s a beautiful little white sandy “beach” with perfectly positioned stones where you can sit and enjoy a red hot cup of Hot Lava Java coffee from Taylor’s

Moving on following the loop, you will cycle through more beautiful terrain as you head towards Cragg Vale road, where high visibility clothing and bike lights definitely help with cycling safely as the road leads you back through the loop to the car park. (Use cycle paths where possible).

The views along the first two thirds of the route are epic, with panoramic views of the Peak District and Eryri (Snowdonia) on a clear day. This route is definitely a sight for sore eyes!
