Inspiring Women Outdoors

Building a supportive space for women adventuring outside

Women, especially from low income and diverse backgrounds face unnecessary barriers to getting out into nature and adventuring outside. We’re tackling that, with expert advice, inspirational stories and practical tips aimed at highlighting the very different experiences women in the outdoors have.

  • One in six women have felt so unwelcome in a physical activity setting, they never returned to that activity
  • Only one in ten women on lower incomes feel they completely belong in the world of physical activity
  • 61% of women are thinking about getting more active

Be part of the adventure by sharing your experience and skills, helping us empower women of all ages to transform their confidence and get outside.

Inspirational Stories from Women in the Outdoors

the salt path

Walking actually allowed me to walk through most of those menopausal symptoms, because to stay physically active, to be out in the fresh air, to be distracted by everything else that’s going on in your life, and to be out in the environment allowed me to find a sort of calmness

Raynor Winn, Author of The Salt Path
