Meet Tom Sigler – Keen hiker, trail and fell explorer, always up for challenges!
Tell us a bit about yourself and how you like to get outside?
Having embraced the outdoors some 5 years ago, I made a fundamental, positive lifestyle change and took control of my health for the better. It has been an awesome journey so far and one I have shared with others online. I hope that many will be inspired to realise the amazing benefits of the outdoors for themselves.
What first started as a love for hiking now includes wild camping and backpacking in the UK and overseas. I have campaigned for outdoor rights (co-organiser of the Dartmoor wild camping protest), established an online community Hike Britain and have had work featured in publications including the National Geographic.
What’s your favourite route or place to go?
Tom Sigler’s Favourite Route – Glenridding Loop
Helvellyn in the Lake District via Striding Edge and back via Swirral Edge, taking in Birkhouse Moor and Catstye Cam too. Bring back good memories of the first grade 1 scramble I did on a stunning day with friends.
