Meet Laura Kitching, hiker, paddle boarder, and Forest School Instructor
Tell us a bit about yourself and how you like to get outside?
I’m Laura Kitching – I’m a hiker, paddle boarder, and Forest School Instructor. I’m incredibly
passionate about making sure the outdoors and nature an accessible and safe space to everyone,
regardless of background and ability. You can often find me teaching bushcraft in the woods,
planting trees, or taking photos on the trails!
What’s your favourite route or place to go and why?
Laura’s Favourite Hiking Route – Roseberry Topping, North York Moors
My favourite place to walk is Roseberry Topping, on the North York Moors. The ‘Matterhorn of
Yorkshire’ is a beautiful walk, with bluebell woodland, and amazing views of the local area from
the top. Easily accessible, and a fun day out for everyone!

What’s your fave bit of kit available on the OS Shop?
I love paddleboarding in the North Sea and canoeing on the River Tees, so this Red Changing Robe
is a valuable piece of kit making sure I can get warm, dry, and ready for another adventure.
