Hutton Roof Crags
Hutton Roof Crags is a lesser walked area in Cumbria. Rory Southworth takes us through a remarkable hillside littered with limestone pavement.
Meet Kate Lord - Always looking for the next big adventure, and a good cup of tea!
What drives you to spend time outside?
Being outside makes you instantly happier and energised.
Where are your favourite places to go?
I love to explore on my doorstep - finding new footpaths and bridleways or linking places I know well with a new route.
What is your favourite thing to do outdoors?
Cooking! On a Bushcraft campfire. Food, cooked and eaten outside, tastes like nothing else in this world!
Who inspires you and how?
I look up to anyone who is brave enough to follow their dreams and spend their time REALLY doing what they want to be doing.
What are your focuses this year to help people get outside more often?
1 - Making it easier, sharing access to and knowledge about maps. 2 - Inspiring people to want to, sharing experiences through different media to plant that seed of inspiration. 3 - Do it more myself, so that I have a better empathy with all of those who have barriers to getting outside and share tips of how to overcome these.
What are your biggest life achievements?
1# Living my best life 2# Becoming a #GetOutside Champion!
3 words you live by…
#adventure #kefi (Greek – passion and enthusiasm) #smile
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Spending too much time on my phone!
