Get Out With The Kids
Meet Get Out With The Kids – Family explorers. Can be found in a tent/caravan where the kettle is always on!
What drives you to spend time outside?
The outdoors is a place to escape, feel uplifted and an opportunity for quality family time with no distractions. A place to learn, have fun and achieve.
Where are your favourite places to go?
We are lucky to live in the beautiful county of Shropshire. A Sunday stroll on the Long Mynd, picnic in Carding Mill Valley followed by an ice- cream can’t be beaten.
What is your favourite thing to do outdoors?
Getting away at the weekend for a camping adventure. Cooking on the campfire and watching the sun go down.
Who inspires you and how?
Always inspired by what other people do and achieve, which gives me a desire to accomplish this myself and as a family. My outdoor hero is Meg Hine, who we have been lucky to meet, and it was Meg that inspired me to start running and my fitness journey.
What are your focusses this year to help people get outside more often?
Our focus this year is to encourage more to get outside by enjoying simple everyday adventures that anyone can do. Family walks, camping and running are our main focus and anything we can discover along the way to help encourage more families to get outside.
What are your 3 biggest life achievements?
1. Raising three happy, healthy, confident children. 2. Running my first half marathon and signed up for a marathon. 3. Climbing the three highest peaks in one day as a family Shropshire in the most brutal of conditions.
3 words you live by…
Never give up.
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Bottle of wine with a big bag of Salt & Vinegar crisps!
