The sun has finally come out which means its officially BBQ season! Even if you have a back garden, venturing further afield can be an exciting experience for the whole family. There are plenty of designated BBQ areas across Great Britain. If you’re bringing your own, please check whether BBQs are allowed before setting up.
If you’re in need of some inspiration on where to go, here are 4 of the most scenic places to have an outdoor BBQ across Great Britain.
1. Loch Lomond, Scotland
Bask in the sunshine on the shores of Scotland’s largest freshwater loch.
With its tree-lined beaches and stunning views of Trossachs National Park, it’s a gorgeous location for an outdoor BBQ. Park byelaws permit you to have a BBQ as long as it doesn’t cause any damage.

2. Constantine Bay, Cornwall

For a beach BBQ, head to Constantine Bay in Cornwall.
It’s the perfect place to kick off your shoes and relax as you watch surfers take on the waves.
As one of the most popular BBQ spots in the UK, you won’t be the only one dining al fresco.
Before hitting the beach, be sure to stock up on locally caught fish and artisan breads in the town of Padstow.
3. Derwent Water, Lake District
Admire stunning views and cook up a storm at one of the free BBQ facilities at Derwent Water. You can find the BBQ facilities in one of the many lakeside parking lots.
After you’ve grilled your sausages, head down to the nearby beaches for stunning views.

4. Kielder Water & Forest Park in Northumbria
Kielder Water & Forest Park is home to the largest manmade lake in Europe, as well as the largest working forest in England.
You can use one of the designated BBQ sites at the visitor centres, to enjoy an outdoor meal while admiring the impressive reservoir.

When BBQing, it’s important to take safety precautions to make sure that meat is cooked properly, while preventing fire damage. Please ensure any BBQs are completely put out and disposed of before leaving.
