The Howgill Fells
Not far from the Lake District and visible from the same stretch of Motorway lies a small mound of hills. Names such as Winder, Brant Fell and The Calf do not capture the imagination like their loftier neighbours. Having said that, The Howgill Fells are beautiful in their own right and well worth a visit.

Three short walks in the Lake District
The Lake District National Park is the largest National Park in Britain. Famed throughout the world for its stunning landscapes, sprawling fells and beautiful waterways, it has inspired poets, writers and artists alike for almost three centuries. If you have an adventurous streak or just a love of the great outdoors, then you must pay this place a visit.
Ennerdale Forest walk
The English Lake District is blessed with some of the finest scenery in the United Kingdom. Its fell tops, Lakes and Tarns have inspired many an artist and poets work! The many walkways and National Park paths there cater for all abilities to enjoy these beautiful surroundings at any time of the year. I am fortunate enough to live within an hour or so of the Lake District, so it has become my playground of choice.
