Ross Toole

Meet Ross Toole – Dad, Husband, Wannabe full-time Adventurer, PE teacher.

What drives you to spend time outside?

My children are they main driving force to spend time outdoors. I feel it is important that children get brought up with a sense of adventure, spend time outside and have limited screen time. If they do I feel it has a positive impact on their mental wellbeing, builds a resilient attitude and they grow up with an adventurous spirit.

Where are your favourite places to go?

As a family we love to spend time swimming in lochs, camping in forests, climbing mountains and going on bike packing adventures.

What is your favourite thing to do outdoors?

Our “go to” adventure and one we love to do, is pitching a tent, light a campfire and toast marshmallows.

Who inspires you and how?

I am really inspired by my own kids and the kids I teach on a daily basis. It motivates me to spread the message of how spending time outdoors is so beneficial for them and I hope to give them a lifelong love of the outdoors.

What are your focuses this year to help people get outside more often?

My focus this year is to Inspire families to GetOutside and spend as much time as they can together in the outdoors. It doesn’t need to be a huge adventure, a walk in the woods can be just as fun and build lots of memories.

What are your 3 biggest life achievements?

Building a strong family unit, Surviving Sepsis, Completing Ironman Wales
