The Howgill Fells
Not far from the Lake District and visible from the same stretch of Motorway lies a small mound of hills. Names such as Winder, Brant Fell and The Calf do not capture the imagination like their loftier neighbours. Having said that, The Howgill Fells are beautiful in their own right and well worth a visit.
Wolfscote Dale and Beresford Dale from Hartington
Dovedale is a honey pot for the Peak District and attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. This 10km circular walk gives you all the pleasures of upper Dovedale, starting and ending in the charming Peak District village of Hartington but without the crowds of Dovedale.
