Navigating on a family adventure
Simon McGrath, the author of Camping with Kids, explains why navigation can be a fun and informative part of any family adventure.
we've recently bought our first OS map of our local area and have been going on mini adventures. The map helps us find new routes we didn't know exsisted and has meant we were able to complete a successful bat walk by the coast. We got more than we bargained for though as a mysterious animal was lurking in the bushes. We only knew it was there but the glow of its massive eyes on a photo. My five year old son has been scoping out safe routes for riding his bike by looking for the orange tracks on the map.
