OS Wallpaper Download: October 2022

The valley between Chorley and the Anglezarke moors near Corley, Lancashire contains a sequence of reservoirs, imaginatively named Heapey Reservoirs 1 - 6, now the preserve of anglers and also popular for walking and birdwatching. They were originally built in the 1850s to provide water and steam power to local cotton, linen and bleaching factories, now long since closed down.

The reservoirs have excellent Carp, Perch and occasional Pike fishing, while a network of local footpaths allow you to explore the area, or head up onto the moors.

Using the downloaded image
