Boardwalk on Parkin's Moss Trail, Muir of Dinnet by Alan Findlay
We were looking for a photo to reflect this weekends' celebrations of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and found this excellent photograph from near Balmoral Castle, the royal residence in Scotland.
Parkin's Moss Trail is in the Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve, which is host to a wide range of flora and fauna. The trail is only around 3km long, and uses boardwalks to protect the delicate soils. As well as this trail, you will also find Burn O'Vat, a 13m deep pothole, cut by a stream that now forms a waterfall that splashes over the sculpted rocks.
