To Brora Beach by Colin Kinnear

This image by Colin Kinnear was taken from Geograph, and shows the steps leading down to the beach near Brora, in the eastern Highlands of Scotland

Brora is a village on the Moray Firth, on the A9 between Inverness and Wick. The beach is bordered by a Championship golf course, while the town of Brora (Brùra in Gaelic) is an old light industrial town, and still has a distillery and wool mill.

This picture was taken from the archives of the Geograph project, which is collecting images of every map square in the country. Images are open sourced under the Creative Commons licence - you can add your own, but if you would like to see one of your photos featured in a future wallpaper download, you can see the full submission guidelines here, and email it directly to us.
