Cycling The Trafalgar Way
Taking on 288 miles/461km of cycling, Kate Jamieson takes us on her adventure from Falmouth to London along The Trafalgar Way.
Planning activities for the Summer holidays? Hoping to get your family outside and active? How about going on a bike adventure this year?
Cycling can be a fun, active and a cost effective way to entertain the family this summer holidays. It can be as easy as making a morning out of a trip to the park or it can be a multi-day bike packing expeditions where you disappear into the wilderness. It is a great way to make memories, keep fit and make the pennies go further during expensive school free weeks.
However if you're not sure how to get that first wheel turning or worried about how to keep everyone safe, don't panic! Stage1Cycles can help with our “Keep Calm and Pedal” sessions.
As part of the Yorkshire Dales National Parks Summer of Events for Families and supported by Ordnance Survey, we are delivering a series of family friendly introductions to biking sessions.
These events are free to access and aim to take the stress out of biking as a family or group by providing you with tips and pointers to get you on your way.
These morning events are suitable for families or individuals wanting to build on cycling and navigation skills in order to confidently explore the National Park and beyond.
Participants must be able to pedal and balance independently, be comfortable using their brakes and gears and have a level of fitness required for an hours cycling.
Children are very welcome but in order to make the most of the sessions we recommend they are 7+.
All sessions will be delivered in a traffic free environment.
