Give your kids more time
Our lifestyle today means that for the first time ever, our children could have a lower life expectancy than us. Their physical and mental wellbeing is directly related to the amount of time they spend outside.
It’s safe to say Kate doesn’t take any persuading to plan an adventure, get out and explore.
Whether it’s climbing, wild camping, sailing, cycling or throwing herself out of a plane – you name it, she’ll jump at the opportunity.
Kate is an adult volunteer with both the Sea Cadet Corps and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, helping young people get started on their own adventures.
She has her sights set on some big mountains, but the majority of her training will be undertaken in the UK. (It was good enough for Hillary and Tenzing!) Alongside this, she is working towards her Mountain Leader Award.Kate is a firm believer that there is an adventure for everyone. It doesn’t have to be running the length of the country, or climbing the highest peaks. Find something you love, something that inspires you then get outside and get started!
