GetOutside Champion: Kenton Cool
Kenton Cool is one of the world’s leading high-altitude climbers, and it's fair to say that he's really passionate about the outdoors.
James is on a crazy mission to make his life more adventurous, to explore the great outdoors, and to climb as many mountains as possible.
James used to live in a city and work in an office - and he was fed up. So he decided to change things.
In 2015 he walked all 214 'Wainwrights' in the Lake District. In 2016 he quit his job to go backpacking in Australasia. And in 2017 he set a new record by climbing all 446 mountains in England and Wales in just 6 months - the fastest ever time - prompting the Sunday Telegraph to nickname him 'Mountain Man'.
He now lives in the Lake District and works as an adventure travel and outdoors writer.
