Choosing the right walking boots
Britain on Foot has been inspiring the public to get active outdoors since 2012. The Outdoor Industries Association created the Britain on Foot campaign to put outdoor activities firmly on both the public and political agendas.
Since then we’ve enjoyed support from the UK outdoor sector, with businesses of all sizes contributing to our programme, encouraging and inspiring people to get active outdoors.
We have also successfully influenced government decision making in sport and recreation, tourism and health. Sport England’s 2016 report ‘Towards an Active Nation’ is proof that the outdoors is now firmly embedded in UK policy-making, and much of that is thanks to Britain on Foot.
However, it’s time to take the next step. Britain on Foot is now working closely with Ordnance Survey and is getting behind #GetOutside, the high profile campaign that will reach and inspire even more people to get active outdoors.
So, whether you are a long term Britain on Foot supporter or new to the project, please explore this website, get involved and together let’s inspire the people of the UK to #GetOutside.
If you are a long term Britain on Foot supporter, please continue to submit details of activity ideas, outdoor events and route descriptions to firstname.lastname@example.org. Content will appear on this site with a #GetOutside/Britain on Foot badge which will also credit the source. You can continue to use the Britain on Foot logo, but the campaign will sit entirely within #GetOutside from 2017 and the brand will no longer be used independently.
